Silverline quality
We are focused on building superior quality yachts for our clients. The construction of a semi-custom superyacht is a hugely challenging endeavour and one that requires a dedicated combination of experience and know-how. This is why we have all the following capabilities in house:
Design and styling
Your luxury motoryacht must look and feel good as well as being seaworthy and safe. This means ensuring that styling and design take into account how you will you use your Silverline while keeping a close eye on practicality and functionality. While it is good to know that your Silverline will be at the height of contemporary fashion when launched, it is vital that people admire her just as much in ten years or when you decide to sell. Our short lines of production and rich experience with building timeless Silverline yachts ensures that we can design and style you a superior semi-custom masterpiece that will stand the test of time.
Naval architecture and engineering
Building a ship that is capable of cruising the oceans in safety and comfort requires a great deal of expertise and a thorough understanding of many factors. Ship stability, for example, is an exceptionally complex issue that is crucial for your comfort. Your Silverline will need to sail in different waters in many different conditions with various loads. Our naval architects will ensure that she provides complete comfort and safety for you, your guests and your crew. All Silverlines are extensively equipped and built to the highest superyacht standards. This requires many custom parts to be designed, developed and made by the yard. We have very capable engineers in many fields, ranging from mechanics and electronics to software. Our belief in in-house naval architecture and engineering reflects our commitment to achieving perfection.
Steel, aluminium and stainless steel construction
We prefer to build in steel, aluminium and stainless steel as they are very durable, exceptionally strong, highly flexible and can take a great deal of impact. With the current top-quality paint systems, the days of ‘steel-rust’ are things of the past. Metal ships are ideally suited to the semi-custom nature of our yachts.
Painting and varnishing
While modern paint systems provide for top quality conservation of your yacht, the proper application of the paint system is key. This is a role for professional painters who do not cut corners and who have a top-of-the-bill application environment at their disposal.
Delivery and service
When your Silverline is finished we suggest taking her out for a proper trial in the area of our shipyard, where many interesting opportunities are available. Then you can return to the yard to make any final amendments you may desire and we will arrange for delivery virtually anywhere you wish.
Completeness
Our clients are very demanding and meeting their needs has required us to constantly stay at the forefront of technology. Your Silverline will only be fitted with proven and reliable technologies and systems. Almost all owners opt for an extensive specification that requires a highly efficient engine room implementation. In order to control costs we have developed a number of technical platforms for the different models we build, combining an extensive system set-up with a compact build and close-knit integration. Customised to your requirements, they guarantee that everything fits neatly into limited spaces while remaining easy to monitor and maintain.
Safety and comfort
Having grown up close to and sailed on the North Sea, one of the most dangerous stretches of water on earth, we are very focused on safety. Key issues in this respect include stability, redundancy and comfort. Poor hull stability throws people around and makes them tired. Inadequate heating can make onboard life very unpleasant, and if it is difficult to prepare warm food the situation is exacerbated. These are comfort issues that have a direct influence on the safety of you and your crew, which is why we take them so seriously. Redundant systems keep your yacht operational when parts fail. Computers and electrical systems make everyday life much easier and we deploy them extensively. But it is vital that all critical systems have manual back-ups available.
Every Silverline is carefully engineered to ensure the right stability. There are many different sorts of stability and it is a complicated matter to explain. In simple terms, a shoe-boxed shaped ship might be stable in calm waters but will be uncomfortable in rough seas. Factors such as shape, weight, weight distribution and active stabilisation systems all interact with each other. This is compounded in different conditions. From calm seas to rough, cruising to lying at anchor, we take every different parameter fully into account.
